OVER VIEW
The Slideshows will show up under the Header in the Bright Colored bar. The Slideshows are listed one by one across that bar. When clicked on it opens the Thumbnails of every photo in the Slide Show. You can click on any Thumbnail and it will open the larger image.
To see additional images, you can click on Next or Previous in the upper right corner above the image. Also, you can click on the image and the next image will be presented. To see ALL the images in an automated Slide Show, click on the Hyper link in the upper Left corner named “Start Slideshow”. To Stop the automated show, Click on the same button that now says “Stop Slideshow”.
The lower left corner presents the image file name. File names can be used as “Captions” if they are labeled with words like “My_first_car.jpg”. Note there are NO spaces between words. There is a more elegant built-in system for adding Captions and gaining the benefit of Sorting your Slides. SEE BELOW.
CREATING A SLIDESHOW
To create a Slideshow:
- Click on “To Add or Edit Photo Albums Click Here.” from the Admin page.
- Type in a Slide Show name in the “Create directory” field
- Click “Submit”
- In the new screen, Click “Browse...” to find the image in your computer that you want to add.
- When you have clicked on the image in your computer, Click “Submit”
- Continue adding all of your images one by one.
Your Slideshow is now functioning.
CREATING CAPTIONS AND SORTING
To Re-sort your Slideshow and add Captions, create a text file as follows:
The procedure is to create a text file in a specific format and file type.
- Open NotePad (on a PC) or Simple Text (on a Mac).
- Make a list of the photos in the order you want them to appear. No formatting or indenting.
- To the right of each file name, type a semicolon with NO space.
- Next type your Caption in normal sentence formating with Caps, Lowercase, and Spaces between words.
- Save the file as: “pics.txt” (with no quotes)
(NOTE: This is very IMPORTANT or it won’t work. This is where Microsoft Word corrupts the system)
Here is a Sample of how your file should look. Note, each line is one image file, followed by a semicolon with NO space, followed by the image caption. No Blank lines & only one image per line.
image-1.jpg;This is a photo of my horse, Blazer.
image-030.jpg;Our buggy being pulled by Blazer.
image-2.jpg;The whole family in the buggy.
NOTE: In the listing of all the photos there can be NO BLANK LINES. The text does not need to be in color.
File MUST be saved as a plain text file (NOT .doc) “pics.txt” (with no quotes)
